This is the license you receive with a purchase. The same terms apply to both the Rails and the Go template.

License Agreement

Next.js SaaS Templates ("the Template")

This is a legal agreement between you ("Licensee") and the copyright holder ("Licensor") governing your use of the Template's source code, assets, and documentation. The same terms apply to both the Rails and the Go template — a purchase is for the template you buy.

1. Grant of license

Subject to your compliance with this agreement, the Licensor grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, worldwide license to:

Use the Template as a starting point to build your own software applications ("Derived Applications"). You may build an unlimited number of Derived Applications.
Modify, extend, and adapt the Template's source code within your Derived Applications.
Deploy and operate your Derived Applications, including for commercial purposes, for yourself or for clients.

This license covers one developer, or one organization, per purchase. If purchased by an organization, any number of that organization's employees or contractors may use the Template under the single license, for that organization's internal projects; the license may not be shared across multiple unaffiliated developers or organizations. A license is not tied to a single project — one purchase may be used to build any number of Derived Applications for the licensed developer or organization.

Note: License scope and pricing may change for future purchases (for example, moving to per-developer seat pricing for organizations). Any such change applies only to new purchases and does not retroactively affect licenses already granted.

2. Restrictions

You may not:

Resell or redistribute the Template itself — in whole or in substantial part, modified or unmodified — as a template, boilerplate, starter kit, or competing product. The license is for building applications, not for re-licensing the source.
Deploy the Template substantially unmodified as a public production service. The shipped example domain (the "records" demo) and demo accounts are illustrative scaffolding, not a finished product; you must replace the example domain with your own application before operating it publicly.
Share, publish, or otherwise make the Template's source code available to anyone who has not purchased their own license (e.g. in a public repository).
Remove or obscure copyright, license, or attribution notices in the Template's source files.
Use the Template to create a product whose primary purpose is to compete with the Template as a code template or starter kit.

3. Ownership

The Template is licensed, not sold. The Licensor retains all right, title, and interest in and to the Template, including all intellectual property rights. You own the original code you write in your Derived Applications.

4. Third-party components

The Template depends on third-party open-source software (listed in the backend's dependency manifest — backend/Gemfile for the Rails template, backend/go.mod for the Go template — and in frontend/package.json). Those components are licensed under their own terms, which are unaffected by this agreement and continue to govern your use of them.

5. No warranty

THE TEMPLATE IS PROVIDED "AS IS", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NONINFRINGEMENT.

6. Limitation of liability

IN NO EVENT SHALL THE LICENSOR BE LIABLE FOR ANY CLAIM, DAMAGES, OR OTHER LIABILITY, WHETHER IN AN ACTION OF CONTRACT, TORT, OR OTHERWISE, ARISING FROM, OUT OF, OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE TEMPLATE OR THE USE OR OTHER DEALINGS IN THE TEMPLATE.

7. Termination

This license terminates automatically if you breach any of its terms. On termination you must stop using and distributing the Template. Derived Applications you have already built and lawfully deployed before termination may continue to operate, provided they comply with Section 2.
